State law against unmarried cohabitation is challenged

A story broadcast today by NPR's All Things Considered reports that the American Civil Liberties Union is suing North Carolina over a law that prohibits unmarried couples from living together. Deb Hobbs (photo) is a former sheriff's deputy who claims that she had to quit her job or get married after living with her partner for three years.
