Unmarried Rights Group Seeks Executive Director or Interim Director

The Alternatives to Marriage Project, a small, national nonprofit for unmarried people (including single people, people who choose not to marry, GLBT people, couples who live together before marriage, etc.) is seeking an interim executive director or an executive director.

Requirements: a willingness to fundraise, experience in the nonprofit world, the ability to coordinate volunteers and board members around the country, the ability to work independently, a commitment to social justice, and a strong interest in the organization's mission. The ideal candidate would also have nonprofit leadership/management experience, fundraising experience, and strong writing skills. Candidates for Interim Executive Director would ideally have Interim ED experience and/or training, to assist the organization's transition from leadership by its founders to a new ED.

The organization is currently based in Albany, NY, but because of its national focus, can be relocated to anywhere in the country.

Starting salary of $20,000-$25,000/year.  Our expectation is that the salary will increase as Executive Director helps budget grow.

More information about the Alternatives to Marriage Project is available at http://www.unmarried.org. Questions and inquires are welcome via phone (518-462-5600) or email (atmp@unmarried.org). Email cover letter and resume to  using the subject line "Job application" (attached documents are fine), or mail to AtMP, P.O. Box 1922, Albany, NY 12201.

Applications will be reviewed May 1, 2005
.
