Boston Globe to announce domestic partner ceremonies and unions
A story released today by the Associated Press reports that The Boston Globe has joined a growing list of newspapers opening their wedding pages to domestic partners. The newspaper announced that it will begin publishing announcements of same-sex commitment ceremonies and civil unions. The decision follows a similar move last month by The New York Times. The Times and the Globe are owned by the same company. Globe editor Martin Baron says, in its community news and notes, that the newspaper already includes same-sex partners in obituaries. The announcements are to begin running in the next few weeks, along with weddings and engagements.
