How Unmarried Americans Voted on Nov. 4, 2008
| Exit polls reported by NBC Television
News show that 34 percent of those who voted for President on
November 4 were unmarried. Higher percentages of unmarried
people voted in California (38%), Illinois (38%) and New York
(42%). Unmarried Americans voted nearly 3 to 1 for Obama in these three states, and about 2 to 1 for Obama nationally. Marital status data were only tabulated on a national level and in a few states. |
