Health insurance coverage for unmarried dependents

    Purpose: Would  change the definition of dependent for the purposes of health insurance coverage to mean a spouse, an unmarried person under 24 years of age who is financially dependent upon the parent and an unmarried person of any age who is medically certified as disabled and financially dependent on the parent.

February 20,2002; reported favorable with amendment and forwarded to House Committee on Appropriations.
